FOUNDATION (Sports & Therapeutic/Accessible Recreation)Their mission is to provide specialized, therapeutic, accessible recreation, and adaptive sports to children with a wide range of challenges and disabilities.Their goal is to leave no child left behind due to the degree of challenges, be it physical, mental, emotional, or neurological. SEA PONY FARM (Nantucket Therapeutic Equestrian Center)SeaPony Farm offers a weekly therapeutic riding lesson program to participants from the public/private schools, social service agencies and independently from the community of Nantucket. SeaPony Farm offers programs for children and adults with disabilities, their siblings, and at-risk youth.SeaPony Farm will focus on improving physical health, establishing a sense of accomplishment, creating a positive learning environment, and emphasizing the capabilities of each individual rider. Along with the very serious & important goals and objectives, it is designed to be a place for the community to gather and enjoy the rewards of participating in something special, unique, and fun for everyone involved. MSPCA – NANTUCKET ANIMAL CARE & ADOPTION CENTERThe MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Center cares for and adopts homeless and unwanted animals each year. We shelter a wide variety of purebred and mixed-breed dogs and cats, as well as rabbits, guinea pigs and many other small animals. We also go beyond sheltering, striving to be our communities’ best resources for animal-related information and assistance. We provide advice on animal behavior and training, answer questions on dealing with wildlife, educate the public about responsible pet ownership and pet-population control. ALLIANCE FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTIONA.S.A.P. is a community-wide alliance dedicated to the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, alcoholism, tobacco and other drug dependency. Money donated will be targeted toward teen abuse and rehabilitation. |
